When I write, I write for me. I have a collection of prompts and a collection of thoughts, and writing, however hard it is, is how to share it with others. Most of the time I see the prompt and go “that is the story I want to write about” and never do. For me, writing is a goal; the end of a motive to get words on a page cohesively and coherently. This piece was easier for me since I have already written it multiple times; some better than others–all through trial and error.
I really enjoyed how you explained the goal of writing as cohesive and coherent. It is different than what most would describe it as.
I appreciate how you described how you make writing personal. You displayed honesty by stating that you don’t always follow the prompt and write what truly means something to yourself.
